Merlot is a French grape variety from Bordeaux (France), arrived at Can Descregut 20 years ago. For us is like a home variety. So you know: welcome! (benvingut!).
A classic style red wine made in the vineyard in accordance with the rhythms of the cosmos and in harmony with the natural environment, in order to achieve the expression of ripe fruit and soft touch.
Ideal with Stews, Rice with meat, Sausages , Roasted red meats , Mushrooms , Sheep's Cheese .

WINEMAKING
Grapes picked by hand. Pre-fermentation at 14 ºC. Fermentative maceration during 3 weeks and male lactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Soft ageing in 300 litters medium toasted French oak barrels for eight months.
TASTING NOTES
Dark cherry colour with violet reflections. Clean and very bright. Dense and abundant tears.
Mellow and seductive nasal aromas with a medium-high intensity. Its notes of very ripe fruit and jam (prunes and blueberries) stand out on a background of earthy notes and aromatic herbs
It is direct at the attack and shows a good, light and silky mid palate. A well-bodied wine with a good tannic sensation and a refreshing acidity. Long finish with a marked persistence. A joyful, casual and lively red wine.
